En Caul Birth
Having to bring forth life into the world can be seen to be one of the best moments of a womans life. Infact, it can be called a miracle. Having an en caul birth which happens once in a rare while is downright awe-inspiring.
An en caul birth is when a baby comes out during child birth still inside an intact amniotic sac (caul). This might make it look like the newborn is completely gift-wrapped in a soft, jello-like bubble just like how people wrap gifts for others.
The amniotic sac is a bag of mostly water inside the womb (uterus). Your baby comfortably floats inside this sac, rapidly growing and developing. Amniotic fluid is a light yellow liquid that protects your baby and keeps them warm.
This “magic juice” helps to develop baby’s lungs, stomach, intestines, muscles, and bones. It also helps your new baby have their first poop shortly after birth.
En caul births happen less in vaginal deliveries than in cesarean section births. This is because the amniotic sac normally ruptures when you’re about to go into labor “your water breaks”. But if the sac doesnt break, the baby can be born en caul.
some cultures and traditions believe that en caul births have some certain spiritual significance. They see those babies as special and believe they bring good luck to the family.
What’s your take on this belief, do you feel same way?
